Sophie Laura’s Sesame Tenderstem Broccoli


Sesame Tenderstem Broccoli

Servings 4 servings


  • 250 g (8oz) tenderstem or purple sprouting broccoli
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter grass-fed
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 small bunch fresh coriander stems and leaves separated
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil leaves chopped


  1. Steam the broccoli until slightly softened or boil for 3 mins. 

  2. In a pestle and mortar, make a rough paste by pounding the garlic, ginger and coriander stems together. (If you don't have a pestle and mortar just chop finely).

  3. Add the butter to a hot wok or frying pan. Add the paste and sizzle for 1 min.

  4. Add the cooked broccoli, toss well and sprinkle over the sesame seeds. 

  5. Turn off the heat, throw in the coriander and basil leaves, give it a good stir in the hot wok and serve.
