This Shredded Beef Casserole is one on it’s own, a family feast that’s super simple to prepare yet packed out with an abundance of spices making it absolutely delicious! Oh we do love our spices and flavours in the Easy Keto Kitchen.
Hot Shredded Beef Casserole
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 400 g (14 oz) savoy cabbage shredded
- 4 stalks scallions chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 red chilli pepper chopped
- 100 g (3½ oz) red bell pepper chopped
- 700 g (25 oz) lean ground beef
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 120 g (4 oz) cheddar cheese grated
- 1 tsp salt and pepper season to taste
Melt 1 tbsp of ghee in a large pan and sauté the cabbage over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes, soften but make sure you don't turn it brown. Set to one side.
Melt the rest of the ghee with the onion, garlic, chilli, red pepper and sauté for 4-5 minutes.
Stir in the ground beef and cook until the meat is no longer pink.
Add chilli, paprika and basil to the pan with the salt and black pepper.
Add the cabbage and sauté together with the beef for a few minutes.
Stir in half of the cheese then place in a baking dish.
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top and bake for 15 minutes.
