Bacon & Broccoli Crack Slaw

Servings 6 servings


  • 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) bacon, chopped
  • 500 g (1 lb 2 oz) cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 250 g (9 oz) broccoli, coarsley chopped
  • 7 tbsp grass-fed butter
  • 3 tbsp refined coconut oil
  • 2 tsp pink himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)


  1. Chop the bacon into 1” size pieces and cook in a large saucepan for a few minutes, remove the bacon from the pan and set to one side
  2. Melt the butter and coconut oil in the saucepan, add the broccoli and cook over a medium heat for 5 minutes
  3. Add the cabbage, salt, pepper and caraway seeds (if using) to the broccoli mixing together
  4. Cook for a further 10-15 minutes, the cabbage should be cooked through but still have a little bite to it ‘al dente’
  5. Return the bacon to the pan, add seasoning to taste and and continue cooking for a few more minutes
  6. Serve & enjoy!
